Suicide rates are frequently increasing for 2 decades. It is the leading cause of death in the United States. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 105 cases of suicide deaths are being reported daily and are higher among male population. When an individual commits suicide, the whole family and friends undergo grief, anger, and helplessness. These people become again a risk for a suicidal attempt.
An individual in crisis can bring harm to others too. According to the situation the individual is at present, violence can happen that can even affect the whole society. Assessment scales that foretell violent behavior has been found correct than judging the behavior. These individuals should not be considered mentally ill but to treat as a normal individual who needs help to come out of the crisis.
Abuse and neglect is another safety issue in crisis. According to the CDC, mainly children are the victims of ill-treatment in which 82 % are under 4 years of age. Female children are common victims. Abuse and neglect are also been reported among partners in which the main victims are women. 3 female : 1 male are killed by their spouse each day.
