HBr is strong acid and it dissociates completely and forms the ions

using the dilution law

M1V1 = M2V2

here M1 = 1.50 M , V1 = 0.175 L

M2 = ? , V2 = 1.00L

M2 = M1V1 / V2

M2 = 1.50 * 0.175 / 1.00 => 0.2625 M

i.e [ H+ ] = 0.2625 M

pH = -log [H+]

pH = -log[0.2625]

pH = 0.58087

answer => 0.581
