Answer #1

Answer: The nurse should ask mother that at what time the child has ingested the acetaminophen and how much time has been spent. The nurse should ask that whether it has been 8 hours or not.

This is because the acetaminophen toxicity can cause life threatening illness but it can be prevented by giving the antidote within 8 hours of ingestion of acetaminophen. The antidote of acetaminophen is N-acetylcysteine.
