Solaria Corporation needs to deal with following statutes and regulations for development and production of wind energy:

  1. Federal Power Act 1935: This is the primary federal authority for regulating over electrical utilities. Federal Power Commission was established to oversee electricity transactions.
  2. Public Utility Regulatory Policy Act,1978: This statute laid the foundation policy which led small non-utility generators to enter the market including the alternate renewable energy developers.
  3. FERC Orders 888 & 889: Decreased transmission obstructions for sustainable power source generators, empowering inexhaustible vitality plants to pick among discount purchasers Gave sustainable power sourcedesigners open access to advertise basic information including transmission limit and costs.
  4. Energy Policy Act of 1992: Exemption from SEC scrutiny encouraged investment in IPPs by private investment companies
  5. FERC Order 2000: Larger balancing areas and real-time balancing better enable higher penetrations of variable renewable energy generation.
  6. FERC Orders 2003 & 661: Required low voltage ridethrough, reactive power, and SCADA capability in wind plants.
  7. FERC Orders 819 & 827: Required wind generators to have equipment capable of providing reactive power.

Federal agencies need to deal with:

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Wind Turbine Guidelines Federal Advisory Committee. U.S. Department of Commerce, DoD, FAA, the U.S. Geological Service, and DOI (which includes BLM, BOEM, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, and the U.S. Geological Service).
