The kruskal-wallis test is performed when the assumptions of one-way anova are not met.(Here the assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity are not met). It is an alternative to one way anova in non-parametric setup. By non-parametric we mean that the sample data provided is not drawn ftom a particular distribution.
