Healthcare planning is a plan made within the healthcare sector by the healthcare providers which involves certain goals , strategies to accomplish safe and high quality health by the use of facilities made available for provision of effective ,cost effective care .

Health care planning is affected by many of the factors like :-

Demographic factors which include sex ,education level , age ,income , religion ,death rate ,birth rate etc. Demographic factors play a vital role in setting the goals and provision of care for example - education level ( educated people help the healthcare provider to make a productive healthcare plan than less educated people)

Economic factors like financial crunches , less funding by government policies affects the plan as it locks the hands of the providers to provide affective care due to less available of funds and other facilities.

Health situation - health status of the population to which the care has to be provided also plays an important role in making healthcare plans . Already existing health issues puts pressure on the healthcare providers in planning and provision of care related to existing and present disease condition .
