Answer #1

Given:

m = 50 g

C = 1 cal/g.oC

ΔT = 90.3 oC

use:

Q = m*C*ΔT

Q = 50.0*1.0*90.3

Q = 4515 cal

Q = 4.515 kcal

This heat is supplied by vegetable oil

So,

Caloric value = Q/mass

= 4.515 kcal / 0.68 g

= 6.6 kcal/g

Answer: 6.6 kcal/g
