Describe major causes of air pollution and the consequences of greenhouse gas accumulation and ozone depletion.

Ans: Air pollution means a pollution that is produced by various sources,that affect or harm the air.

Major causes of air pollution are as follow:

1)Exhausted or harmful wastes come from industries like rubber industry,cloth industry etc.

2)Sulphur dioxide that emitted from the combustion of fossil fuel like coal etc.

3)chloro fluorocarbon(CFCS) that emitted from some electrical appliances like A.c ,as a waste product should also produced air pollution and affect or harm ozone layer.

4) Cutting or burning of forests.

5) some advanced agricultural activity like flushing of pesticides also one of the cause of air pollution.

Carbon dioxide,methane ,water vapour etc are the most important green house gases,the accumulation of these green house gases cause the absorption of infrared radiation emitted from earth surface and reradicating back to earth's surface.

The increased in emission of chlorine and bromine containing compound like carbon tetrachloride ,chloroflourocarbon etc causes the depletion of ozone layer.

Ozone layer prevent the harmful ultraviolet radiation enter on the earth but due to depletion in ozone layer,these UV radiation directly reach to the earth surface and cause increased in the earth temperature.
