Sample - A small number of patients randomly selected from the list of all patients of the cardiologist who have suffered heart attacks.
Parameter - mean recovery period of the patients who have had heart attacks.
Statistic - mean recovery period of those patients who have been randomly selected in the sample.
Variable - recovery period of one patient who have had a heart attack.
Data - recovery periods (in days) of the patients of the cardiologist, who have had heart attacks.

Population - the clients of the counsellor
sample - randomly selected few clients
parameter - proportion of all clients of the counsellor who stay married
statistics - the proportion of all clients of the counsellor who stay married
variable - number of clients who stay married
Data - responses of the variable in yes or no
