1) Would you expect to find valine and leucine on the outside or inside of the tertiary structure?

Here the valine and leucine are hydrophobic amino acids. Along with valine and leucine, phenylalanine are found inside the globular protein.

2) State Whether the following statements explain primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structures of proteins

A) Adjacent chains of polypeptides are held together by hydrogen bonds between the oxygen of the carboyl group of one chain and the Hydrogen of the amide bond in another chain.

This observation will provide explanation about the Secondary Structures of the proteins. \alpha helix and the \beta pleated sheedts are the major routine category of the Secondary Structures of protein. These Structures are held together by Hydrogen Bonds , between the oxygen of the carbony group of one chain and the Hydrogen of the amide bond in another chain

B) In Sickle cell anemia, valine replaces glutamic acid in the \beta - Chain

  This fact describe about the Primary Structure of the Proteins. Sickle cell anemia is a genetical disease, which causes disturbance in the red blood cells. This anemia had a minor change in a polypeptide chain which comprises hemoglobin. Here Valine replaces the glutamic acid which is in the sixth amino acid of the hemoglobin \betaChain.
