Answer #1

1. The statement is false.under anaerobic conditions pyruvate is converted to lactic acid or ethanol which depends on the organism. When Pyruvate is converted into the acetyl CoA , decarboxylation occurs and carbon dioxide is removed. It is the link between glycolysis and citric acid cycle. I happens in aerobic condition.

2.The statement is false. Glycine is optically inactive. And except glycine all other amino acids in a protein have the L configuration.

3.We can see that the side chain of the lysine contains the hydrocarbon chain. We know that the hydrocarbon is non-polar, Hydrophobic in nature. So the amino acid, lysine belongs to the hydrophobic amino acid category.

4.Peptide bonds join amino acid in a polypeptide chain- describes the primary structure of a protein.

A chain GIVEQCCASVCSLYQLENYCN B chain FVNQHLCGSHLVEALYLVCGERGFFYTPKA Shown above is the amino acid sequence of the hormone insulin. This structure was determined by Frederick Sanger and his coworkers. Most of this work is described in a series of articles published in the Biochemical Journal from 1945 to 1955. When Sanger and colleagues began their work in 1945, it was known that insulin was a small protein consisting of two or four polypeptide chains linked by disulfide bonds. Sanger and his coworkers...
