1. Any situation consent is mandatory for receiving treatment in emergency.

2. If the patient is conscious consent get from the patient.

3. If patient is unconscious get consent from guardian.

4. Without consent no treatment taken in emergency.

5. without consent the legal issue occur is Battery.

6. For minor less than 18 years consent get from parents or guardian.

Example:

1. Conscious patient with thoracentesis:

If you want to carryout intercostal chest drainage, explain procedure clearly and get consent then carryout the procedure.

2. If unconscious head injury patient:

If the patient need any surgery get consent from their guardian.
