Rf values is a measurement of the movement of the compounds on the stationary phase with respect to the solvent front. compounds that have to be checked will be bonded with the stationary phase/ paper by means of some kind of interactions and the eluent which is used for the movement of the component of the compounds will try to help the tested compounds fo overcoming from these interactions. It can understand that the higher the interactions between the compound and stationary phase lower will be the Rf and vice versa. therefore,

The dye material which is having the lower rf value will have a higher interaction with the stationary phase in comparison with the solvent front.

If the Rf value is high it means the compound having weak interactions with the stationary phase in comparison with the solvent.
