The reaction is as following tznug Zn2/HCL 4 OH for tho + ZuluIt is separated and purified by fractional distillation technique. The purity is checked by 1H NMR; In the starting material the OH proton signal would be present whereas it is absent in the product. The rest of the signal pattern is same with the starting secondary alcohol.
