HIM (Health Information Management) professionals are highly trained people with knowledge of the latest information technology applications for the management of Healthcare. HIM professionals provide care to the patient by taking care of their medical data and assist the healthcare professionals like doctors, nurses and staff by taking care of the health records and providing research to different disease conditions.

HIM professionals have responsibilities such as collection and analyses of patient data, maintaining precision of patient data, safeguarding patient medical data by creating strong firewalls on the internet and databases, management of databases and helping with extraction and research of reports for further reference in the future.

1. HIM professionals help to collect the data and keep them in healthcare applications so that the data is stored in databases.
2. To ensure that the data loss is prevented, backup files are created by HIM professional and stored in other databases so that retrieving data is possible.
3. HIM professionals help the scientists, doctors and healthcare providers by providing data and records for research so that experimentation is possible and they could assist with efficient health care management.
