geometric mean = (((1+r1)*(1+r2)*(1+r3)*(1+r4)*(1+r5))^(1/n)))-1

where r1,r2,r3,r4,r5 are the returns for the stocks for period 1,2,3,4,5 respectively and n = no. of returns = 5

standard deviation = square root of variance
