3. Postmaturity is a risk for both mother and the fetus. The risks for postmaturity of fetus are

- Meconium aspiration

- Ageing and maturity of placenta which causes malfunctioning of placenta

- Fetal malnutrition due to decrease volume in amniotic fluid

- Lack of oxygenation due to meconium aspiration during labor

- Hypoglycemia if there is a depletion in the stored glucose and it aggrevates if mother is diabetic.

4. Ultrasonography and digital examination can be done to confirm the diagnosis.

The nursing interventions are

- provide sims posture on the same side of the fetal spine increase the chance of rotation from posterior to anterior.

-in the later second stage of labor, manual rotation of head can be done to facilitate the lobor

5. The nursing intervention for abruptio placenta during active labor are

- Place the patient in left side lying position.

- obtain an emergency fetal ultrasound

-Prepare patient for emergency cesearean section.

- Provide supplemental oxygen, keep NPO, catheterize the patient, start large IV bore, all the preoperative blood and urine studies to be done.

- Nurse be sure to complete the preoperative actions by using a checklist

-Attach patient to an external fetal monitor to check the fetal condition
