Healthcare in the United States now consumes more than 17 percent of the country's gross domestic product, yet US residents generally do not live longer nor are they healthier than those in other developed nations that spend less than half that amount on healthcare (Goldman and McGlynn 2005). Does your knowledge lead you to agree with the above quotation? Have you had concerns that money is wasted in the US in healthcare? What do you attribute the cause for this situation? Or is it a misplaced perception?

Answer #1

This quotation is agreeable because rather than spending very high amount on the healthcare, the rate of diseases like cardiovascular, diabetes, hypertension, obesity incidence is greater among these populations compared to population in other country.

This cannot be considered as wastage of money because a developed country like US will focus on future. For this there should be a start ,this is what is initiated, implemented, analyzed, evaluated and corrected and reimplemented to get the desired task.Though it doesn't stand at the first place it is preparing itself to be the number one in future healthcare with most advanced technology and care.

The cause of the situation is because of a rapid planning leading to a poor perception on the whole aspects in the healthcare.
