Do you agree or disagree and why?

Former President Obama had good intentions when implementing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), however; it came at a cost to the economy and to the American people. It is almost impossible to estimate the total economic cost attributable to job losses, reduced working hours, businesses taking their operations overseas, higher operating costs passed on to consumers, and increased taxes that would reduce consumers’ purchasing power. (Shi, 2015, p. 348). After the Affordable Care Act, there has been speculation that a single-payer system would occur. The privatized healthcare coverage will need to be eradicated in order to implement universal access. The single-payer system will be solely run by the federal government to facilitate and monitor care. The capacity of the health care system to meet the demand for services is a major issue that threatens future access to health care for most Americans. (Shi, 2015, p. 347).

I agree because American medical Association with Affordable care Act help low income individual and families by fee-for-service system..But insurance and pharmaceutical industries against the single payer model..Federal government provide coverage for some services like doctor visit and outpatient visits etc..single payer system approach is characterized with some regulations like everyone gets the coverage that everybody pays for..Due to high drug and treatment costs most of the people didn't get proper coverage and treatment..single payer system and new payment structure like fee-for-service arrangements providing bundled payment system for particular type of care..single payer system generally includes universal coverage... single-payer system is under government- responsible for paying health care claims..private insurance paying members claims when health insurance is not govenment run federal government must adopt the single payer system, to get universal health coverage..private clinic and doctors which not employed by the government they simply get the bill from government for the services..so this single-payer system made demand for services..it is a major issues for many low income population to get health coverage..

Do you agree or disagree and why? (js) One of the major factors contributing to the high cost of healthcare is increased utilization caused by moral hazard. A majority of healthcare expenses are paid by third-parties so consumers receive an excess quantity of health care services to a greater degree than with a single-payer system. Another factor for the high cost of healthcare is the overemphasis of medical intervention over preventative care. These are just some of the many factors...
