Difference between Modern medicine and Natural medicine:

Modern medicine is a system that uses drugs, surgery or radiations to treat the patient to get rid of the diseases and its symptoms. This system is also known as allopathic medicine or conventional medicine. In this system mainly doctors, nurses and other professionals in  health care deliver the services to the patient. Hippocrates is considered as the father of modern medicine.

Examples of modern medicine :

Chemotherapy: Any chemical treatment intended to be therapeutic with respect to a disease state .

Natural Medicine

Natural Medicine is a system that used by humans from prehistoric times and uses the natural products to cure or decrease the symptoms or diseases. They used plants, microorganisms, animals and organisms that lives in fresh water and sea.

For example: Ayurveda ( India)

Herbs: Plants whose roots, seeds, leaves etc are used in medicine.

Modern medicine is costly and having a lot of side effects where as traditional or natural medicine is affordable and have no or less side effects.

Modern medicine is highlyeffective and increased human life span where as the natural medicine is not always effective ( Dyspnoea, accidents).

Integrative medicine

Integrative medicine an approach that focus on whole person and it combines the conventional medicine with Complementary and alternative medicine ( CAM). Integrative medicine improve the quality of life of patients ( Cancer, chronic diseases). Examples: Massage therapy, Acupuncture, Aroma therapy.

Natural healing

Natural healing is a system that uses natural remedies and energy therapies to help the body to heal naturally( by body itself). This system also known as Naturopathic medicine.

Naturopathic medicine avoids surgery and allopathic medicines. They use sunshine, herbs, exercise, meditation and certain food items to help the body to regain health and to get rid of illness.

Who uses natural healing:

Naturopathic doctors or naturopathic physicians ( ND), who has a graduation in naturopathy ( 4 year course ) and traditional naturopaths ( no licence) uses naturopathy. Even some of the health care providers such as doctors, chiropractors, nurses are obtaining training in naturopathy.

Examples of natural healing: exposure to sunshine, hydrotherapy, massage therapy.
