Answer = Risks and complications of blood transfusion are as follows :-

  1. Allergic reaction( due to mismatch)
  2. Acute hemolytic reaction,
  3. Hyperkalemia(in AKI & CKI)
  4. Hypocalcemia( in storage of blood calcium attach with citrate)
  5. Hpervolemia( due to sudden transfusion)
  6. Sepsis(bacteremia due to late transfusion because dextrose in the blood)
  7. Fever,
  8. Hematuria
  9. Hypotension,
  10. Infection (like HIV, HEP B, HEP C)
  11. Transfusion related acute lung injury ( TRALI)
  12. Hemochromatosis (in prolonged transfusion)
