These protocols determine how the data will be transmitted and spread in the network without any anomalies.

The domain name server is like a phone book of the internet. the directory of the domain names is maintained here and they are translated through internet protocols.

The email protocols are POP, IMAP, and SMTP.

Difference between POP and IMAP.

SMTP: The main function of SMTP is to transfer email between mail servers. To send email, the client sends the message to an outgoing mail server, which in turn contacts the destination mail server for delivery.

IMAP allows the user to keep all messages on the server. It constantly synchronizes the e-mail program with the server and displays what messages are currently present.

POP is set to download all the messages from the e-mail server onto your computer. This means that all the actions performed on the messages (reading, moving, deleting) will be performed on one's computer.
