1.Irrigation of wound during surgery is one of the technique, used to reduce the risk of infection of surgical site. Irrigation ( washing out of wound during surgery) is important because Infections can offen develop in wound following surgery.This can prevent the wound from healing and can lead to infection spreading through body. To reduce surgical site infection irrigation was needed.

2.Commonly Used irrigation fluids during surgery are Sterile water,mannitol ,sorbitol ,glycerin.These liquids don't conduct electricity so used for monopolar resection.

Sterile water has the lowest cost and is used by most urological procedures.

3.Tissue dehydration was a procedure .It's a removal of water from aqueous fixed tissue.

Signs of dehydration are dry skin ,dry and sticky mouth,weakness,nausea,vomiting,head ache constipation

4.Surgical technologists must keep track of how much irrigation fluid is used .Because irrigation during surgery has some of the complications,to prevent those completions tracking is important.

Complications of irrigation during surgical procedure:* Absorption of irrigation fluids can results in fluid over load.* Fluid extravasation into the surrounding tissues can creat local regional and systemic mass effect.*

5.Not all surgical procedures need irrigation.Nervous system and orthopedic surgeries not requir irrigation.
