1.The ECG has to be taken in the supine position. In case if the patient is unable to lie on the back it can lead to wrong reading. Left lateral pr right lateral position can lead to changes in the P waves and other waves .In these situations the patient ECG can be taken in upright position .
2.Baseline wandering can be probably because of the looses loose connection of electrodes in the chest, loose contact, wetness or watery surface ,hair ,hard breathing ,metals, devices can lead to wandering line in the ECG.
3.The Medical assistant has to clearly explain that the provider or the nurse practitioner will read the ECG and let the patient know the soon. Until then the patient can be informed nothing to worry about.
