Answer #1

In the schedule of cost of goods sold, unadjusted cost of goods sold = Beginning finished goods inventory + Cost of goods manufactured - Ending finished goods inventory

The given statement is true.

In the schedule of Cost of goods manufactured, applied overheads are considered which may be different from actual overheads incurred. Thus, Beginning finished goods inventory + Cost of goods manufactured - Ending finished goods inventory, gives unadjusted cost of goods sold. Under applied overhead is added to the unadjusted cost of goods sold and if there is over applied overhead, it is subtracted from the unadjusted cost of goods sold. In this way, adjusted cost of goods sold is obtained.

Kindly give a positive rating if you are satisfied with the answer. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt. Thanks.
