Answer #1

ANSWER.

1) Ordered dose = 40 mg.

2) Volume will provide the correct dose.

         Formula

               Volume(ml) = Desired dose/Dose in hand * Quantity.

    Here

          Desired dose(D) = 40 mg.

          Dose in hand (H) = 20 mg.

                Quantity(Q) = 5 ml.

As per above formula

        Volume(ml) of drug required = D/H * Q

                                                      = 40/20 * 5

                                                      = 2 * 5

                                                      = 10 ml.

3) After how many days the medication will be refilled.

Total volume of medication in the bottle = 240 ml ( cc = ml)

Volume of medication required per day = 2 tsp twice a day.

                                                    1 tsp (teaspoon) = 5 ml.

                           So

                               Dose required per day = 2 * 5 (twice a day)

                                                                    = 10 ml * twice a day

                                                                    = 20 ml per day.

Number of days in which this medication finished = Total volume/Dose per day.

                                                                  = 240 / 20

                                                                  = 12 days.

              So

The medication need to be refilled after 12 days.
