Wednesday :

Thursday :

Chicken sandwich

Assorted fruit juice

Elementary school

A school for the children, typically older than toddlers and younger than adolescents. This age children ( 5 -11 or 12 years)grow very rapidly and they are very active. A healthy diet is necessary for enhancing their growth and development. Adequate energy and nutrients they should get from their diet.

The above mentioned school's menu shows the food items for the lunch and it covers a part of child's nutritional needs. For a school age chid , requirements of calories : 1200- 2000( depending on activity level and growth)

Protein : 3- 5.5 ounce

Fruits : 1- 2 cups

Vegetables: 1.5 - 2.5 cups

Grains : 4-6 ounce

Diary : 2.5 cups.

If we take Monday's lunch menu of above mentioned school

It contains cheese bread, marinara sauce( tomato), steamed brocoli, fruit juice and choice of milk. Meals at home should cover the inadequacy of nutrients supplied by school. The child's should include with fruit( fresh or dried fruit rather than juice; most of the juices have added sugar.ensure that the child is drinking 100% juice)milk, cereal and peanut butter sandwich. Peanut are the excellent source of many vitamins and minerals( protein: 25.8g, calory: 567, fiber:8.5g,fat: 49.2g in 100g ).

Healthy snack can include with yogurt, vegetables and dip, chicken sandwich, fruit, milk and cereal. Sea food, soy products, eggs and unsalted nuts and seeds can include in child's diet to ensure protein supply. Whole wheat bread, popcorn and oatmeal is good for child.
