One thing one should be most cognizant about as it relates to interpersonal communication cultural differences an only when we are aware of the cultural differences we can communicate well with a person of another culture.

Intercultural competencies are critical for people working in the healthcare profession as only when the provider knows the cultural differences they are able to communicate well with the client; record the symptoms well, arrive at a correct diagnosis and make the client understand the importance of adhering to the treatment.
