It is known as the infectious period, It is defined as the period in which an infected person or an infected animal can transfer the disease-causing microorganism directly or indirectly to another non-infected person or animal.

Example - An infected mosquito can transfer Plasmodium malariae for her lifetime. (The mosquito has communicability of lifetime)

- An infected human can transfer the HIV virus to a noninfected person through his body fluids.
