Answer #1

1. When Bella called for refilling of medication as a allied health professional I must ask her why the medication was not refilled from past 2 months.

(Rationale : Medication was actually suggested refill for 6 months and 60 tablets BID)

2. When Dr. Merry was not available it is necessary to wait for him and there is no need to call for a refill.

(Rationale : Refillings cannot be prescribed by Doctors through phone or call. Also Bellas condition 3 months ago was different and even physician would not know her present health scenario , so it is better to wait for Doctor.)

3. There was a need to change her appointment to the present existing dates.

(Rationale : Bella states that she had no problem with her medicines, and her appointment for next visit was fixed 3 months ago, but this should be change because she did not refill her medications and not sure whether she really followed prescriptions. And she called for refill after 3 months. So her appointment should be changed to know her condition)

4. Document the entire incident :

Bella who is under the care of Dr.Merry consulted 3 months ago , physician prescribed Zantac 150 mg BID ,60 tablets and the prescription to be refilled for 6 months. Her next appointment was fixed 3 months ago. Now she wants to refill her medication after 3 months. But I did not call physician and fixed a new appointment date for her visit.
