There will always be conflict between nurses and medical assistants even if it is not intentional. The nurse may only be trying to help the medical assistant because they may feel after additional years of schooling compared to the medical assistant that they are more knowledgeable and can provide more expertise. I do not feel there is any team effort in this clinic. The medical assistant should not be downgrading the nurse to the receptionist. She should explain to the nurse in a calm but firm manner that she has been trained and credentialed to work in a medical office setting and even though they received different credentials, they can learn from each other. It is more important to work past petty differences and work together rather than against each other as this is more professional and presents better for the clinic and the patient's.

Answer #1

One person should depend on another person in the clinic. Both RN and Medical assistant interact with one another for a better understanding of each other. Each job is different and each one has different roles and responsibilities. They are well-versed in their own job and one should learn new things from another. It doesn't mean RN is more knowledgeable and superior than MA. No one should downgrade the other profession. Participation of every person is necessary for teamwork. RN may not capable to handle MN duties. RN should appreciate the MA for their duties so that they feel good which intense teamwork. Both RN and MA should cooperate and respect each other for better teamwork.
