Safety Interventions for suicide precautions are :-

- Active listening to the patient

- Avoiding anger causing situations or circumstances

- determine the presence and degree of suicidal risk

- keep all equipments like knife ,needle ,etc injury causing articles away from the patient

- patient should be under continuous monitoring

- one staff should assigned totally for that patient

- do not leave the patient alone , a staff should be always with patient

- teach patient about coping strategies like assertiveness training and impulse control .

- determine if patient has available means to harm himself .

- identify immediate safety needs

- give proper attention to the patient with suicidal risk ,avoid ignorance

- administration of medications at proper time and maintaining compliance to the medications.

- involving family members in the care of the patient and allowing person to meet patient whom the patient likes more
