Question 4).

Given for Gonzales Corporation,

Cash at Beginning = $43600

Cash flow from operating activities = $480000

Cash flow from investing activities = $-600000

Cash at the end of period = $ 138000

As we know that, Cash at the end of period = Cash at beginning + Cash flow from operating activities + Cash flow from investing activities + Cash flow from financing activities,

So, 138000 = 43600 + 480000 - 600000 + Cash flow from financing activities

=> Cash flow from financing activities = $214400

Question 5).

Taxable income = 284180

Tax calculation is in the following table

0-9525 10% 0.10*9525 952.5
9525-38700 12% 0.12*(38700-9525) 3501
38700-82500 22% 0.22*(82500-38700) 9636
82500-157500 24% 0.24*(157500-82500) 18000
157500-200000 32% 0.32*(200000-157500) 13600
200000-500000 35% 0.35*(284180-200000) 29463
Total Tax 75152.5

So total tax liability is $75152.5

So average tax = Tax liability/taxable income = 75152.5/284180 = 26.45%
