Answer #1

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

__________________________________________________________________________

PART (a):

Given that,

Object distance, u= 48 cm

Focal length of the mirror, f = 18.5 cm

Therefore, location of image/image distance (V) is given by mirror equation:

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{u}+\frac{1}{V}

T u 18.5 cm 48 cm

:: = 0.03322072 cm-1

V = 30.1 cm

PART (b):

Magnification of the image is given by:

-V m = -30.1 cm 48 cm

:: m = -0.627

__________________________________________________________________________

PART (c):

Since the image can be formed on a screen, the image is REAL.

__________________________________________________________________________

PART (d):

We got a negative value for magnification.

Therefore, Image is INVERTED.
