1) Pregnant women need between 300-500 extra calories in total .The pregnant women should take proper caloric intake, so that baby should get all the nutrients in needs.
In first trimester,there is no need to take extra calories.
In second trimester daily caloric intake of pregnant women should be raised by 300 to 350 calories.
In third trimester the pregnant lady will need about 500 extra calories per day.
meals to get extra calories include eggs which contain 80 calories,cereals, milk, sweet potatoes and lean meat.
2) Some common complications of pregnancies include high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, infections, preterm labour, placenta previa.
pregnant lady with high blood pressure should take food with lower salt and sodium content which raise the blood pressure.
Whole grains, fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy products and meat products should be taken to manage blood sugar level during pregnancy.
Cooked vegetables, boiled potatoes ,fish , whole grains, dairy products, fruits and adequate amount of water is complete diet for pregnant women which reduces the risk of preterm labour.
3) hyperemesis is a condition characterized by severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss and electrolyte disturbance.

Dehydration
Headache
Confusion
Fainting
Jaundice
Low blood pressure
Rapid heart rate
Pregnant women with hyperemesis, should take smaller and more frequent meals. Some medications also available to relieve from hyperemesis includes pyridoxine, Thiamine.
4) signs and symptoms of eclampsia are-
Severe headache
Excessive weight gain during pregnancy
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
Swelling of feet and face.
Mainly the deficiency of vitamin D causes eclampsia.
High protein diet can help to repair and grow muscles, stabilize blood sugar, and hence reduces the chances of eclampsia.
