Answer #1

Given,

Q = 1.1 x 10^-5 C ; q = 2.8 x 10^-6 C

a)The charge on cavity wall will be:

q(wall) = -2.8 x 10^-6 C

b)The charge on outer surface will be:

Qo = 1.1 x 10^-5 - (-2.8 x 10^-6) = 1.38 x 10^-5 C

Hence, Qo = 1.38 x 10^-5 C
