1. Schistosoma japonicum :

# Diagnostic stage - mature eggs

# Laboratory diagnosis :- Schistosomiasis is diagnosed through the detection of parasite eggs in stool or urine specimens. Antibodies and/or antigens detected in blood or urine samples are also indications of infection

# Pathology :-

Fever

Abdominal pain (liver/spleen area)

Bloody diarrhea or blood in the stools

Cough

Malaise

Headache

Rash

Body aches

Abdominal pain

Abdominal swelling (ascites)

Bloody diarrhea or blood in the stools

Blood in the urine and painful urination

Shortness of breath and coughing

Weakness

Chest pain and palpitations

Seizures

Paralysis

Mental status changes

Lesions on the vulva or the perianal area

# Most effective treatment is done by the use of praziquantel , corticosteroids . Surgical care include removal of masses ,granuloma etc.
