5)The foods which has to be avoided during pregnancy are as following

  • Raw foods (vegetables, sprouts which are unclean)
  • Raw eggs(poached eggs, salad dressing )
  • Processed or undercooked  meat ,liver,crabs
  • High mercury rich goods like certain fish(Tuna,King mackerel)
  • Certain fruits like papaya and pineapple
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol

6)Medically the first 28 days of life (birth to 28 days) are considered to be an infant.The only tolerable food is mother's milk or formula feed (in case of maternal infection, no milk,disease, on TB or cancer treatment )

In general till 1 year is considered to be infancy.

The normal foods is milk till six months

Weaning started from or after six months.Whatever food is introduced it is given in smaller quantity to aide digestion and also to know any allergy to that food products

The infant is first given some clear liquids (clear soup,rice water,vegetable water ) and then thick liquids in very smaller quantity

This is followed by a soft smashed foods (porridge, smashed vegetables, potatoes, banana )

Then as tolerable the solid foods are introduced

The foods to be avoided or most infant develop allergy are

  • Peanuts (difficulty indigestion and excreted as whole when the infant passes stool
  • Crabs and certain fish ,sea foods( the mercury content can be an intoxicant)
  • Excess salt and refined sugars which are unhealthy and can result in conditions like diabetes, heart disease in later stage of life
  • Certain infant may be allergic to gluten products in wheat
  • Cow's milk can lead to kidney diseases
  • egg whites
  • Canned juices

7)Human milk or Mother's milk is the best and safe choice to be given to an infant.The cow's milk contain large amount of lactose which can affect the abdomen and can lead to kidney disease in the future

8)Whole milk (2-3 cups ) per day

Vegetable soup(4-6ounce) per day

Fruit juices(4-6 ounce ) per day
