Units/hr = Total no of units in volume × IV rate in ml ÷ Volume of IV fluids in ml × time ( hr )

1 hr = 60 mins

20 ÷ 60 = 1000 × 20 ÷ 500 × time

Time =20000 × 60 ÷ 500 × 20

= 2 hrs
