How does the kreb's cycle relate to the study of pathophysiology?
Aerobic organisms normally lives and grows in an environment rich with oxygen. Tricarboxyoxilic cycle or citric acid cycle or Krebs cycle defined as a process of chemical reactions that used by all aerobic organisms to generate energy.
Normally any alteration in Krebs cycle results in alteration in cellular respiration. For example , cancer cells inhibits normal cellular processes in energy synthesis. Cancer cells synthesis energy using glycolysis in an anaerobic environment. This in turn hinders the Krebs cycle that leads to disturbance in production of intermediates.
Thus understanding normal krebs cycle process helps to understand the disease process.
5. Which of the statements below is TRUE about the Kreb's cycle. During the Kreb's cycle: a. NAD+ is reduced. b. ATP is produced by oxidative phosphorylation c. FADH2 is oxidized d. Two of the above are TRUE e. All of the above are TRUE (except “d”)
Is the Kreb's Cycle useful in the absence of terminal electron acceptors?
Fill in this diagram of the Kreb's Cycle Pyruvate ooo (these circles are Carbon atoms) How many of the following are produced per "turn of this cycle? 1) Co2 molecules CoM-SH Add to the diagram: 1) the CO2 molecules 2) the NAD+ and NADH+H+ 3) the FAD2+ and FADH2 4) the GTP 5) the names of the intermediates CoA-SH 2) NADH+H+ 3) FADH2 ) GTP 5) the names of the intermediates
Question 5 1 pts What is the main purpose of the Kreb's cycle (also known as the TCA or Citric Acid cycle) To produce ATP from the energy stored in acetyl-CoA To oxidize pyruvate and produce NAD and FADH2 To recycle NADH for use back in glycolysis To produce carbon dioxide by the reduction of pyruvate To produce NADH/FADH2 from the oxidation of acetyl-CoA
Epidemiology is defined as the study of diseases among populations. How does epidemiology relate to microbiology? What is the difference between an epidemiologist and a microbiologist? If you were an epidemiologist interviewing someone with an infectious disease that could lead to an epidemic, what are some questions you might ask?
A. Make a table comparing the three main events of aerobic cellular respiration: glycolysis, Kreb's Cycle, and electron transport chain. For each stage list the input molecule, the products (including any energized electron carriers, NADH and/or FADH), the number of ATP generated in each stage for every one glucose molecule that begins the process, and the location in the cell.
