Let large x be the cost per unit.

Then the selling price per unit is large 2x .

We are given that 1000 units are sold with a profit of $5000. Therefore, we can write the total sale as:

2x × 1000-х × 1000+5000

20001-10002, + 5000

1000x 5000

5000 1000

Therefore, the cost per unit is $5,
