1. An allergy occurs when someones immune system overreacted to a certain food substance. studies show that food allergies can occur even though you are eating food without any problem.

If a person is highly sensitive to a particular food, inhaling it or having contact with the food will trigger the allergic reaction. Also, having a cross-contact between safe food and food having allergy also causes the reaction. If someone is using food which is not prepared by them should read the label about the content and should consider the warning and ask for ingredients.

  • Do not consider a food if doubt about the content.
  • even if, we are aware of certain traditional foods which do not uses allergen of yours, should double check about the ingredients. (may use milk to reduce the odour of fish nowadays)
  • always keep medication in hand.
  • the characteristics of reaction may change every time.

symptoms

symptoms range from mild to severe.

severe- anaphylaxis (breathing difficulty, hypotension, changes in heart rate.), it can be fatal, so must be treated with epinephrine.

other symptoms are

  • abdominal cramps
  • vomiting
  • wheezing
  • continuous cough
  • shock
  • dysphagia
  • swelling of the tongue makes difficulty to talk or breathe
  • thready pulse
  • cyanosis
  • fainting
