9.)

Since,3.6*10^-2 has minimum two significant digits, So final answer will also have two significant digit.

(4.36*10^-1 - 3.6*10^-2)*(6.50*10^4 + 7.94*10^6)

= (4.0*10^-1)*(8.00*10^6)

= 3.2*10^6

10.)

average velocity(Vavg) = total displacement(d)/total time(t)

first,

x-displacement(Xd) = 10*cos(30 deg) - 6*sin(45 deg)

Xd = 4.42 m

total time = 5 sec + 2 sec = 7 sec

Avg Velocity in x-direction = 4.42 m/7 sec = 0.63 m/sec

second,

y-displacement(Yd) = 10*sin(30 deg) - 6*cos(45 deg)

Yd = 0.757 m

Avg Velocity in x-direction = 0.757 m/7 sec = 0.108 m/sec

So,

Avg Velocity = (0.63 m/sec ) i + (0.108 m/sec) j
