Lung cancer has no cure rather so far but the progression of the disease can be slowed down with life style changes,medication and surgeries

The following advice and guidance can be provided to Michael

  • Provide psychological support and reassure the patient
  • Do not give any false reassurance
  • Inform both about the positive and negative side of the surgery,this helps him to make decision that fits his wife
  • Tell him the decision has been made by the provider to slower the progres of disease and would have taken the decision on the best interest of patient
  • Inform him post operatively ,the patient will be under special care to help her recover as per the standard and protocol
  • Encourage him to get spiritual support with prayers and beliefs,this can give him a peace of mind.
