Statute of limitations: It is the period fixed by the state to file the lawsuit against a healthcare provider. This limitation inhibits patient (plaintiff) from filing suit against healthcare provider (defendant). This time frame changes from state to state

Licensure: It is a process of a governmental agency giving permission (for a specific period of time) to a particular person to work in a certain occupation after verification of that person meeting some established performance standards and standard criteria (with respect to education, passing of examination and others). The objective is to make certain that the person getting the license has the required competence. It is normally provided by each state or for that matter jurisdiction. Example is a licensed doctor.Certification: It is a process of a non-governmental body giving permission (for a particular period of time) to a specific person to work in a certain occupation after verification of that person conforming to some established performance standards and laid-down criteria. .The candidate has to fulfill some minimum requirements and pass some examination for getting a valid certificate.
