1) We can fill the inverted cup with water by removing the air inside the cup with the help of the turkey baster.

2) we cant fill it by squirting water into it because the air trapped inside the cup will have no way to escape.

3) we fill it by drawing the air trapped inside with the turkey baster. It then creates a vacuum. The water will flow into the cup from the container in order to fill in the vacuum because of the pressure difference.
