As defined above, A resume is a summery document about a person’s employment, education and skills. A resume represents overview of a candidate to employer and based on resume employer select the candidate or short-list the candidate for next level of selection procedure.

Depends on requirement or Individual’s experience, resume may be written in following three formats.

  1. Chronological Format

A chronological resume starts with work history and list most recent position first. This type of resume preferable to a person having strong work history.

  1. Functional Format

This resume highlights your experience and abilities rather than your work history. However, you may add your work history at bottom of this resume. This type of resume preferable to a person who have gap in employment history or changing career.

  1. Skills Format

This resume focuses on your skill set such as Tax Return filings, Accounting, MS-Excel etc. This type of resume preferable to freshers.

1. A resume that presents career related experience and highlights achievements in any order is a Functional resume.

2. Chronological is Correct option.

As Amber lists her previous positions (work history) with her current positions listed first.
