Fast forward to today, even though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health officials recommend certain vaccinations at certain ages, there are still some parents who choose not to vaccinate their children. Should the government have the right to compel vaccination? Should parents have the right to refuse it?

The rights of autonomy, right to make decision ,individual choices and preferences according to their culture, beliefs, practices, etc. has the right to refuse any forms of treatment including vaccination. The government cannot compel an individual to take vaccination unless it can cause an pandemic outbreak. Even though the individual can refuse vaccination, these people are subjected for isolation, certain preventive techniques to prevent spread of infection or from getting the infection .

The parents have the fight to refuse vaccination for their child on the basis of its benefits and disadvantages. They are the decision makers when it comes to immunization of their child.It has to be respected on the grounds of culture, religious beliefs and necessary measures has to be taken by the government when they refuse for vaccination.
