Insulin lispro

  • It is rapid acting
  • Onset is within 15 - 20 minutes
  • Peak at 30 - 90 minutes
  • Duration of action is 3 - 4 hours
  • Supplied at neutral pH

Insulin Glargine

  • It is long acting
  • Onset is within 4 - 6 hours
  • It's doesn't show any peak of action
  • Duration of action is 15 - 24 hour
  • Supplied at pH of 4 therefore it should not be mixed with any other prepratprep of insulin.
