Answer #1

1).

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a causative agent of a dreadful sexually transmitted disease (STD) called AIDS (Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). This virus mainly kills the T helper-cells of immune system, thus the immune system will be malfunctions.

The immune functioning is reduced in these patients. so taking nutritious food is important to maintain normal health. Muscle wasting, diarrhea, and lipid abnormalities are also common in HIV patients, which demand high intake of nutrients. So, the three diet therapy considerations important for people living with HIV/AIDS are,

i). Food must be balanced and contains adequate nutrients to meet the nutritional demands

ii). Eating raw foods (such as raw eggs, and sea food) must be avoided

iii). Maintaining extreme water and food safety to avoid spread of infections.

Consider the case of Kristy Aney. Kristy was diagnosed with HIV in 1992 and was told she would survive, at most, 10 more years. Despite unfavorable odds, Kristy is still alive 20 years later. Since her diagnosis, she has witnessed tremendous improvements in HIV/AIDS treatments which have helped patients live longer with fewer side...

At the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the early 1980s, U.S. public health officials were shocked by the emergence of this new, deadly threat. The illness was found in gay men, a population that already faced discrimination in employment, housing, military service, marriage, health protections, adoption, public accommodation, and so on (Harper & Schneider, 2003).  Local, state, and federal officials had to figure out a public health strategy with people from the gay community and their allies in medical...

Maybe this will help: when you read your peers' post, pretend that you are in a classroom and you just heard him or her speak. Your reply must be meaningful enough that in a face to face class, you would raise your hand, wait to be called upon and comment or ask a follow-up question to their answer.
